As the Kids Activities Department Head you are responsible for managing the day to day organization, operation, promotion, administration and supervision of the Kids Activities department. The two major components of this department are Kids Activity programming and Child Center operations. Use your creativity to create fun, enthusiastic, and safe programs that encourage member participation through a variety of interactive, educational and fitness based programs. Ensure performance by exceeding revenue goals, operational excellence and high quality service.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Member Experience

* Exhibits outstanding customer service by developing positive relationships with members * Responds promptly to member inquiries regarding Kids Activities programs and services * Articulates extensive knowledge of Life Time Fitness programs, products, services, policies, and procedures * Gets families involved with family focused activities through club participation and communication

Sales & Promotion

* Markets, promotes, and sells Kids Activities programs throughout the club and in the community to increase participation * Plans and organizes special events throughout the year to promote value to the members for club participation and increase attendance in fee based programs

Financial & Budgetary

* Monitors Kids Activities revenue, registrations and attendance of programs * Oversees department budget and participate in the annual planning process * Monitors Kids Activities profit and loss statements and make necessary adjustments within the department * Completes payroll and ensure labor costs are within the budgetary guidelines * Maintains inventory and order supplies for the Kids Activities department

Managerial & Supervisory

* Plans program and activity curriculum, prepares program schedules, and registers participants * Assigns staff, observe and evaluate various programs including:

Youth Fitness Classes

Birthday Parties

Summer camps

Dance and Martial Arts classes

Rock Climbing programs

Child Center Activity Schedule

* Trains Kids Activities (including Child Center) staff through shadowing instructors, orientation, direction, and feedback * Coaches and counsels Kids Activities (including Child Center) team members * Recruits and interviews new Kids Activities (including Child Center) team members

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

* High School diploma or GED and three to five years of progressive management experience in a related field * Four-year college degree

Experience

* One-year experience teaching or working in a children's program * One-year experience in day care setting as a lead teacher or two consecutive summers of camp experience with increased responsibility * One-year customer service experience * One-year managerial experience * Experience in event planning and coordination preferred

Licenses / Certifications / Registration:

* CPR/AED certification * Early Childhood Education Certificate preferred
