Description
Provides excellent customer service and climbing instruction to all levels of climbers during assigned lesson programming. Encourages members to push their personal comfort zones and physical fitness. Monitors rock wall area to ensure safety of all climbers. Provides general instruction on climbing techniques in a fun, enthusiastic, and safe environment to all climbers during Open Wall and group events.
Examples of Work Performed
Member Experience
1. Greets, acknowledges, and interacts with members in a friendly and professional manner
2. Provides organized climbing instruction in a safe atmosphere
3. Explains and demonstrates climbing equipment, techniques, and hand and feet climbing methods
4. Supervises members on the wall to ensure safety procedures are adhered to
5. Maintains order and safety in the rock wall area
6. Ensures climbers are aware of potentially dangerous areas and activities
7. Responds to member inquiries regarding Life Time Fitness policies and procedures
8. Resolves conflicts in a timely and professional manner
Sales & Promotional
1. Promotes and sells rock wall programs within the club and community
2. Promotes all Member Activities programs and services
3. Articulates extensive knowledge of Life Time Fitness products, services, policies and procedures
4. Promotes all Life Time Fitness programs, products and services
Financial & Budgetary
1. Ensures use of supplies follows the amount prearranged by the department budget
Managerial & Supervisory
1. Maintains member files and waiver forms
2. Sets up and takes down wall at the beginning and end shift
3. Monitors and ensures the cleanliness and safety of rock wall area
4. Responsible for submitting incident reports to the Member Activities Department Head
5. Attends department and "all club" meetings
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
Experience
- Six months to one year climbing experience (indoors and/or out)
- Previous indoor climbing gym work experience or 6 months of work experience as a Rockwall Staff for Life Time Fitness
- Six months experience instructing climbing programming to both youth and adults (indoor or out)
Licenses & Certifications:
- Belay certified
- CPR/AED certified
- First Aid certified
