Description
General Summary
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and operation of the Life Time Fitness LifePower. Ensure the financial success of the club by providing leadership, direction, and support. Ensure that the club facilities are clean and operating efficiently. Conduct fitness assessments and provide personal training services that offer members programs to maximize workout efficiency and improve overall sense of well being. Ensure team members meet or exceed monthly sales goals. Maintain business plans and marketing strategies to increase membership sales and Life Time Fitness products and services.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Member Experience
1. Perform daily walk-through inspections to ensure that all areas of the club are clean, neat, organized, and in good repair
2. Ensure all areas of club are maintained to Life Time Fitness standard
2. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting members with their suggestions and concerns
3. Ensure team members are providing the highest level of customer service
4. Develop safe, professional, exciting and comprehensive personal training programs to ensure clients are satisfied with their workout program and remain motivated to attain their personal fitness goals
5. Conduct fitness consultations for new clients including pre-participation screening, Medical History, Lifestyle questionnaire, and goal setting to assess and recommend personal training programs
6. Refer members to appropriate personal trainer level based on needs, when necessary
Sales & Promotion
1. Monitor team member's daily, weekly and monthly revenue and unit totals to ensure they are achieving or exceeding goal
2. Serve as Life Time Fitness ambassador to the community
3. Promote Life Time Fitness program, products, and services
Financial & Budgetary
1. Monitor revenue and expenses via Month To Date (MTD) report on a daily basis
2. Manage budget by planning, forecasting, and monitoring revenue for the club
3. Forecast upcoming year's financial expectations
4. Review monthly reconciliation and non-revenue budgets
5. Monitor club supplies and expenses, including repairs and maintenance
6. Calculate payroll data and cost of goods
7. Responsible for the following Business Plans:
· Business Review Conference Call (Balanced Score Card)
· GL Review, DSSR reports
· Monthly Executive Audit
· Area Director Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Report
· General Manager Performance Management Plan
· Department Performance Management Plan
Managerial & Supervisory
1. Mentor team members and provide feedback, giving them tools to improve and develop stronger sales and customer service skills
2. Authorize new hires, promotions, employee status changes, and terminations
3. Coordinate disciplinary actions and terminations with Area Director and Human Resources Director
4. Recruit, interview, and train all new club team members
Responsibilities of All Positions
* Support and articulate Life Time Fitness mission statement * Adhere to company policies and procedures * Ensure cleanliness of the club using all 5 senses: * Sight to ensure club is neat and orderly * Sound to ensure music/sound levels are appropriate * Touch to ensure floors, countertops, etc are clean and dry * Taste to ensure the food & beverages in the café are up-to-standards * Smell to ensure the club is fresh and odor free
Qualifications:
Education:
· College degree in Business Management, Sports Management, or related field
Experience
· Three years fitness industry experience (Personal Training, Yoga, Pilates, or similar field)
· Three years management experience
· Two years sales experience
· Two years financial management experience (Profit and Loss analysis, budget and inventory management, or related experience)
Licenses / Certifications / Registration:
· Nationally accredited Personal Training and/or Pilates certification or RYT-200.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
* Superior customer services skills * Demonstrated success in the fitness industry * Ability to achieve sales goals * Excellent recruiting and hiring ability * Excellent supervisory, presentation, and time management skills * Demonstrated understanding of facility operations * Business management skills * Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
